Wright State UniveristyVirtual Tour - Text DescriptionsAmphitheater, Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences Building The Medical Sciences Building, with its unusual octagonal design, is one of the most unique buildings on campus. Its eight-sided floor plan is further enhanced by its highly irregular exterior silhouette. Low, flat-roofed wings are interrupted by vertical projections of various heights. The entrance to the brick building recedes between two of these vertical projections. Above the entrance doors are two wide rows of frosted glass windows that continue to wrap around the inner sides of the vertical projections providing an interesting continuity. Just outside the entrance is the bronze bust of Hypocrites proudly displayed on a pedestal. To the left of the Medical Sciences Building is the terraced amphitheater with a multi-piece sculpture, Divisions, on the flat stage area. To the far left, is the Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building with its distinctive open twin towers that jut into space. |
