Wright State UniveristyVirtual Tour - Text DescriptionsAmphitheater, Biological Sciences and Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building In the distance is the interesting form of the Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building. This distinctive brick building, with its twin towers, is silhouetted against the sky and can clearly be seen from an outdoor Greek-like amphitheater. In the center of the amphitheater is a multi-piece sculpture by internationally-known artist, Linda Cunningham. Titled, Divisions, it is made of wood and twisted steel and is best appreciated by walking through it. Its gripping message is conveyed on six bronze plaques written in six different languages. The eye catching crimson color of the steel adds interest to the surrounding concrete terraced seats of the amphitheater. To the left of the Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building is the Medical Sciences Building, aesthetically interesting because of its unusual octagonal design. In turn, this architecture complements that of the Biological Sciences Building to its left with its irregular shape and two outstretched wings. |
