Will my computer work in the residence halls?
All of the residence halls come equipped with network hook-ups for each student. For information about hardware and software requirements, visit the CaTS site.
Are there jobs on campus?
Yes, students can find jobs on campus. Students should be sure to check with Career Services about open positions and plan to attend the Student Employment Job Fair in August.
When do I register for classes?
New freshmen register for classes through the Orientation process the summer before they begin classes. Orientation dates are mailed to students in February or March.
Is there an application fee waiver?
No, Wright State does not offer students a fee waiver. Students can request that the application fee be deferred to financial aid.
Can I send in my application if I haven't taken the ACT or SAT?
Yes, we will keep your application until we receive your official ACT or SAT scores. We must have ACT or SAT scores before we make an admission decision.
What kind of tutoring is available for students?
Freshmen can receive one free hour of tutoring each week for every class they take. Wright State also provides free assistance for students needing help in math or English at the Mathematics Learning Center or the University Writing Center, respectively.
What division sports does Wright State play?

What are the requirements for admission?
New students must meet the following admission criteria: Ohio residents 2.0 GPA, 18 ACT composite or 840 SAT critical reading and mathematics only, and a college preparatory curriculum. Non-Ohio residents 2.5 GPA, 20 ACT composite or 960 SAT critical reading and mathematics only, and a college preparatory curriculum. Transfer students must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA from the last school where they attempted 9 semester hours or 12 quarter hours.
Can I pick a roommate?
Students can request specific roommates on their housing application. Roommate requests must be submitted by May 1, and must be reciprocal for each student.
Can I have a car on campus?
Yes, all students can have a car on campus. Parking fees are generally $24 a quarter.
Do I have to live on campus?
No, Wright State has no housing requirements for students.
When should I apply for campus housing?
Housing is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage students who want a particular type of room to apply for housing by Thanksgiving of their senior year in high school. Roommate requests must be made by May 1.
When should I apply for financial aid?
Wright State's priority deadline to file the FAFSA form is February 15. Students can still apply for financial aid after that date.
When should I apply for scholarships?
Wright State's Competitive Honors Scholarships have a deadline of January 15. Academic Performance Scholarship deadlines are February 15. Check the Financial Aid site for information about other scholarships and deadlines.
When should I apply for admission?
Wright State is on a rolling admission process and accepts applications throughout the year. For students interested in scholarships, housing, and financial aid, please be sure to have your admission application complete by the required deadlines.
