You are welcome to the visit the Veteran and Military Center! It is located in Allyn Hall, Room 131, and the staff is there to assist veterans, active duty, spouses, dependents and other eligible students in establishing the GI Bill and other educational benefits for which they qualify.
Before the Post-9/11 GI Bill program was signed into law, spouses and dependents had eligibility for education benefits through the Survivors and Dependents (DEA) program. Since August, 2009, service members enrolled in the Post-9/11 GI Bill program have, for the first time in history, been able to transfer unused educational benefits to their spouses or children.
If you are a first time applicant for VA education benefits, you will need to complete the following forms in addition to the Wright State forms below:
- 22-5490 (Application for Survivors' and Dependents Educational Assistance) (PDF)
- Certificate of Eligibility issued from the VA

Students who have received benefits at another College/University/Training Program will need to complete the following form in addition to the Wright State forms below:

Students who are currently receiving education benefits at Wright State University only need to complete a Veterans Enrollment Report each quarter.

If you are the spouse or a dependent of a veteran or active duty military personnel who is eligible for Post 911 GI Educational benefits, your spouse or parent needs to transfer benefits to you.
Apply for benefits online or by mail.
At the above website, you can complete online application forms or print and send the forms by mail. The online forms are recommended as they are processed much more quickly. Shortly after you receive your Wright State Admissions letter, you will receive an email that contains a link to the Orientation. You will need your UID and password, also provided in your admissions letter. We encourage you to set aside about one-half hour to complete this interactive orientation.
Register for classes: All admitted students will be assigned to a specific early registration group based on their student classification, the number of credit hours earned, and in some cases randomization within the largest registration groups to subdivide them. Registration for each term is divided into two periods, Early Registration and Open Registration. Each period has different due dates and policies regarding the cancellation of registration due to nonpayment by the due date.
All students are expected to complete the registration process, including schedule changes, by the end of the Open Registration Period when online registration closes. Specific dates for each term are published in the academic calendar.
Apply for a parking permit.
Complete the Veterans Enrollment Report every term that you are a student.
Students receiving educational benefits must complete the Veterans Enrollment Report each term. If you change your major or your class schedule or completely withdraw after you have submitted this form, you will need to complete the add/drop card to the Wright State Veteran and Military Center.

Check your Wright State email frequently. In your email you will receive any Financial Aid awards, your bill, time-sensitive notifications, etc.
