Academic Experience:
I will always remember my interaction with my professor, Dr. Bob. He was my Thermodynamics instructor that was very helpful in my understanding of the course. Thermodynamics is a course highly related to Mechanical Engineering, so it was difficult for me to understand the concepts taught throughout the course. Dr. Bob created a fun and easy way to understand the complex subject.
Outside of the Classroom:
My greatest fear about starting college was losing my healthy eating habits and gaining wait. Although my eating habits fell slightly, I kept up my work out routine and overcame my fear.
Building the Resume:
The internship I held during my time at Wright State was for an Industrial Engineering position. I completed multiple time studies, facilitated continuous improvement activity, and learned a lot about the language used in my field. The internship helped greatly in building my resume because it showed I not only had a pristine education, but I also had applicable experience using that education. Ultimately, the internship led to the full-time position I have secured upon graduation.
Getting Involved:
My favorite on-campus experience was Dean Student Advisory Board cookout in Russ Engineering. My Senior Design group was able to present on the project we worked on all senior year. We got to eat great food, share our project, as well as learn more about what our peers were working on.
Real World Experience:
My favorite class is Facilities Design because I was able to use concepts learned to help optimize the layout of the facility where I held my internship.
Making a Difference:
Service opportunities provide a great chance to give back to the community and I really learned how much better that felt than receiving.
A Little Advice:
I would tell a student considering Wright State to first-Get Active.
By using the recreation center at Wright State, you can obtain a healthy balance that will drastically help in your studies. Also, have fun but focus on studies as well. Wright State is a great place to have fun, but anyone considering attending Wright State should also be aware of their role as a student. Always try to give back to the Wright State community by taking course work seriously.
Lastly, Get Involved: there are so many wonderful organizations filled with great people. Get out there and see what appeals.
A Few of My Favorite Things:
My favorite thing about Fall Quarter is walking around campus, seeing all the beautiful colors in the trees and feeling the cool breeze blow through my hair. Winter Quarter is great because although it's so cold outside, Wright State has a heated tunnel system that allows you to commute without freezing. Spring Quarter is great because the weather is nice, everyone’s in a good mood, and so many outside activities are going on.
