Education Abroad Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I have to speak another language to be able to study abroad? A. No not always. We offer many opportunities in non-English speaking countries that not only offer classes in English, but also provide extensive language study of a native language. Knowledge of the native language spoken in the host country may be required for certain programs.
Q. How can I pay for this? Are there any scholarships available? A. Students who are currently receiving scholarships, grants, and/or financial aid can apply this money to their education abroad program. There are tons of scholarships and grants available to study who want to study abroad especially to those that want to study outside of Western Europe. You may also apply for other supplemental loans that are available. Please see information on WSU Financial Aid at: http://www.wright.edu/finaid
Q. Can I get credit for my education/exchange abroad A. Yes and many courses taken abroad will have an equivalent at WSU. See your academic advisor before choosing your courses and he or she will endorse the list of courses you will take abroad
Q. Won’t studying abroad set me back for graduation? A. Not at all! If anything, students who study abroad graduate on time and often times early. Many times for every credit you earn abroad it transfer back 1.5 times.
A. Students who are going on a USAC Program pay USAC and host universities fees. Students going on the Ambassador and Exchange Programs pay WSU tuition. Students also participating on Ambassador and Exchange Programs must pay a non-refundable $50 application fee.

The UCIE will register students participating in Exchange and USAC Programs. Students participating in Ambassador Programs will be responsible for their registration of the program course.
