We highly recommend that international students look for accommodation prior to arriving in the USA. Students will have the option of choosing between living on campus or off campus. On-campus is near and within walking distance to classes on campus. Off-campus on the other hand, is very limited and some of the housing units available will require students to have a car and US Social Security Number. As per the US immigration laws, Social Security Numbers are available only after students secure on-campus jobs.
On campus housing information may be found on the Wright State University housing website at: www.wright.edu/housing. If you have on-campus housing questions, please call the Residence Services Office at 937-775-4172 or toll free at 1-866-978-4663.
For off-campus housing information, please visit www.wright.edu/ucie/student/housing.html. Information regarding apartments, pricing, discounts and student ad listings are available on the page.
New students are REQUIRED to check in with the UCIE Office after arriving in Dayton. The UCIE Office is located at the WSU Student Union, Room E-190. Please bring your I-20, I-94 and Passport for a check-in session.
All incoming students are REQUIRED to complete the Wright State University (WSU) "Medical History Form". Please NOTE that it is important that you complete this form in your home country before you arrive at WSU because the required documentation (IN ENGLISH INCLUDING DATES TAKEN) as stated in the form can be provided by your doctor or obtained from your home hospital. If you do not have the form filled when you get to campus, a hold will be placed on your account for the next quarter and you will be required to take the necessary immunizations here. This might cost more than getting them done in your country.
Attendance at Orientation is MANDATORY for all new students. If a student does not attend, a HOLD will be placed on the student's WSU account and they will not be able to register for classes. In addition, please review the "Orientation Packet" section at the top of this page. If you have any questions or concerns about your arrival in Dayton, please feel free to send an e-mail to uciearrivalassistance@wright.edu.
The orientation handbook contains much needed information on housing, shopping tips, health services and WSU services. Please read through this handbook before travelling to the U.S.
As a supplement to the orientation handbook, the orientation packet will cover information on placement testing, academic advising, steps for class registration and other information. Please click on the provided icon to view the orientation packet.
