Quest for Community: A Call to Action Developing a Legacy of CommUNITY

On Friday, April 22, 2011, Wright State University will host Quest for Community: A Call to Action. The Quest Conference is an annual, statewide conference that explores diversity issues in higher education. The purpose of the conference is to bring together students, faculty, staff, and community members to encourage an understanding of and commitment to diversity issues as well as to offer opportunities to exchange resources related to diversity enhancement. The conference is free and open to the public.

Synopsis: A $15 scholarship from a Swedish woman to a Kenyan boy creates a ripple effect when he goes on eventually to become a U.N. attorney and sets up a scholarship fund for other children in his village. A Small Act tells the story of the two unlikely philanthropists and the power of giving—no matter how small the gift.

The conference, film screening, and Kenynote Speaker is co-sponsored by the Dayton Council on World Affairs. It is free and open the public.
