Returned Modifications: VOE 411, VOE 421, VOE 431, VOE 451, VOE 471, VOE 472, VOE 475 --- the committee raised several issues with the proposed modifications in converting the VOE courses to CTE courses and requested, among other things, that the college submit new course proposals for the CTE courses. Following the meeting, the UCAPC chair met with several members of the CEHS at their request to discuss the issues. The CEHS will submit the changes to the committee for consideration at its October meeting.

COLA
Approved Inventories: delete from inventory MUS 141, MUS 142, MUS 143, MUS 217, MUS 302, MUS 322, MUS 337, MUS 338, MUS 402, MUS 403, MUS 405
Approved Modifications: ENG 486, ENG 410, ENG 420, ENG 430, ENG 440, ENG 450, ENG 460, ENG 470, MP 381, MP 382, MP 383 (the committee corrected the prereq to read MP 382 instead of MP 282), SOC 201, HST 402.

Returned Modifications: the committee returned to COLA for reconsideration the Sociology course renumbering system indicated below. The COLA representatives on UCAPC will work with the college to bring the issues raised in committee to the department for consideration. Some, but not all, of the issues raised focused on the university wide impact of the proposed changes on degree programs and the implied need of programs across campus to modify their programs and submit such for Senate consideration in response to the Sociology changes. That, may be a major undertaking that needs much preparation. Other issues arose regarding the possible "Banner" driving force behind the change from "SOC" to "Sc" and then the absence of changing other SOC courses (e.g., SOC 200 and SOC 201) to the Sc designation. These issues also mandated that the committee return to the college the B.A. Sociology program change (see below Program Changes).
