The University Writing Center (UWC) conducts Personal Peer Consultation sessions on a walk-in or appointment basis. All sessions are a half-hour long and begin at the top or bottom of the hour.
You may walk-in for a half-hour session at the UWC at the top or bottom of the hour. If we have a consultant available, we will meet with you on a first come, first served basis.
To ensure that we can help as many students as possible, students may attend a maximum of one session/class/week and no more than one session/day.
Students may schedule session time in advance by making an appointment. To ensure that as many students can benefit from our services as possible, students may make a maximum of one appointment/week. Students may not have more than one appointment on our schedule at a time.
We ask that you come to the UWC to schedule your appointment. We reserve the right not to accept appointments over the phone.
We start on time. We recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Demand for the center's services is very high. If you do not arrive on time and we have people waiting for service, we reserve the right to give your session to another student.
If you will not be able to attend a scheduled appointment, we ask that you notify us at least one hour in advance by telephone (775-4186) or in person. If you miss a second scheduled appointment, we will remove you from our schedule, and you will not be permitted to schedule further appointments for the quarter/semester. You may still use the center on a walk-in basis. You may schedule appointments again the following quarter/semester.
