The University Writing Center (UWC) conducts face-to-face (f2f) sessions by appointment or on a walk-in basis.
All clients may make one appointment for a half-hour session per week.
Students enrolled in DEV 082 or DEV 092 and students who speak English as a Second Language (ESL), including those enrolled in the LEAP program, may make one appointment for a one-hour session per week.
Students registered with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) may make two appointments for one-hour sessions per week.
We ask that you come to the UWC to make your appointment. We will not accept appointments over the phone.
If you cannot make your appointment, for whatever reason, please give us a courtesy call at (937) 775-4186 as soon as you can so we can adjust our schedule accordingly.
Clients who miss three appointments in a quarter will have their remaining appointments cancelled. You may come to the UWC to reschedule cancelled appointments, but each subsequent missed appointment will result in the cancellation of your remaining appointments.
You may walk-in for a half-hour session at the UWC at the top and bottom of the hour. If we have a tutor available, we will meet with you on a first come, first served basis. Students enrolled in DEV 082 or DEV 092, ESL students, and students registered with ODS may have one-hour walk-in sessions. However, one-hour walk-in sessions are only available at the top of the hour for scheduling reasons.
You may have as many walk-in sessions as you need. However, to avoid student and tutor "burn out" and to ensure we can help as many students as possible, you must wait no less than one hour between sessions.
