Although the primary focus of the University College is on first and second year students, the student population in the Academic Advising & Transfer Services Center is diverse and includes students who are:

  • still in high school (PSEO)
  • adults (23 years or older when admitted)
  • transfers (with less than 90 hours of transfer credit)

Advising Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) Students:

Advisors work collaboratively with the Admissions Office to help PSEO students identify and register for the specific college courses permitted for their enrollment in the PSEO program.

Advising Adult and Transfer Students:

Academic Checkpoint:
  • Meet with an Advisor
  • Register on time
  • Check DARS regularly
  • Stay on track
  • Advisors collaborate with other university offices to help provide quality advising for adult, and transfer students.
  • Advisors are specially trained to help students understand the requirements for their individual degree programs in order to ensure timely movement out of the University College into a degree-granting college.
  • All transfer students should submit transcripts from previous institutions prior to meeting with advisors in the University College.
  • All transfer students are encouraged to attend a university orientation for transfer students. Students unable to attend orientation should schedule an advising appointment and follow the AATS guide for NEXT STEPS (PDF).
