About Parker House and Theory

Comprised of 5 Boston-based acting and film students, Parker House & Theory are undeniably a perfect fit of remarkable musical talent. Each member commands their instrument with delicate control to create a charismatic sound that will keep any audience on their feet. Their diverse music style is difficult to classify as static but it is obvious that the band’s chief goal is for their listeners to have fun.

Parker House & Theory has been one of the staples on Emerson College's scene for the last few years, but thanks to a large grass-roots buzz, they have emerged as one of Boston's next generation of acts to watch - also due to their diverse musical approach and tight stage dynamic.

Parker House & Theory’s soulful jams, bursting melodies and bluesy rock inspires uninhibited dancing and provides pleasure for music-lovers of all types. With a blend of sarcasm and jokes, the band uses their personality along with their musical talent to raise their live show to a different level.

About Hqax

HQAX is one catchy rock band. They write rock n’ roll built around strong and catchy melodies and hooks. Musically they feature elements of Alkaline Trio-styled pop-punk with moments of upbeat guitar heavy rock.

HQAX was born as a straight up punk band to three art students in 2002. Those three students were Jeff Rudolf (guitar, vocals), Adam Bryant (bass), and Brad Gilbert (drums).

But, as they wrote on their website at www.hqax.com, ‘natural Darwinian forces’ caused the band to evolve from strictly a punk band into more of a rock outfit.

“We lean towards rock these days, but we really want to keep everything catchy,” said Rudolf.

Formerly known as Hoax the band became HQAX because of a homemade band t-shirt blunder.

“We were making homemade t-shirts using iron-on letters. We ran out of the letter O about half way through and started using the letter Q instead. Everyone liked the change so we kept it,” said Rudolf.
