Academics

Distance Learning
In Wright State's distance learning classes, students and teacher communicate with each other online. Activities in virtual classrooms sometimes supplement and replace activities in face-to-face classes.

  • Blended, Hybrid, or Mixed-Mode classes strengthen traditional classroom learning with online resources, discussions, and activities. Some online activities are required to complete the course and are done through a web-course management system. Students still attend some on-campus class sessions; however, this type of in-class attendance is reduced from a traditional course. Most of these classes follow the conventional start/finish schedule.
  • Web-Only classes can be taken entirely online from home, school, office, etc. Faculty members use a web-course management system to administer course content, discussions, interactions, and resources. Attendance in a physical classroom is minimal to none. Most web-only classes follow the conventional start/finish schedule.
Don't forget to check out the Distance Learning section of the Transfer Center site.
