The College of Nursing and Health invites all RNs interested in a challenging, flexible program of study to submit an application. The most qualified applicants are selected by an Admission Committee from the eligible applicant pool based on the following criteria: completeness of application package, cumulative GPA, essay quality, number of core courses completed, physical assessment and pharmacology test scores, and availability of space in nursing courses where partnership agreements with cohorts of 25 students or more are given preference.

To be eligible to apply to the RN-to-BSN Completion Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be admitted to Wright State University as a matriculated (degree seeking) student. Learn more about the application process.
2. Submit the completed RN-to-BSN application (PDF) to the CoNH by deadline dates.  These dates are:  August 1 for fall entry, October 1st for Spring entry, and March 1st for Summer entry. All application materials must be received  by 9:00 a.m. on the deadline dates for consideration by the Admission Committee. All applicants will receive entry notification within 30 days after the application deadline.
3. Evidence of the following must accompany application.
   • Official transcripts from all schools attended (submit with Undergraduate Admissions Application);
   • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 upon entry (If applicable, provide a statement of explanation regarding prior dismissal from any other program for academic or non-academic reasons and complete the Undergraduate Admissions Petition Process.)
   • Approved health requirements
   • Professionally acceptable background check (BC&I and FBI) which means there may be NO criminal history record on file with FBI and/or Ohio BC&I;
   • Liability insurance
   • Health insurance
   • Professional CPR (American Red Cross CPR for the Professional; Rescuer American Heart Association courses: BLS for the Healthcare Provider or Heartsaver and PBLS; or Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification;
   • Unencumbered RN license
   • 36 hours of General Education/WSU Core (one must be Statistics [STT 1600 or equivalent])
   • Physical Assessment test out option along with proof of NUR 2150 credit purchase or credits transferred from a physical assessment course taken within the past 5 years; (learn more about test out options)
   • Success on Pharmacology test out option or credit transfer (within past 5 years); (learn more about test out options) and
   • Brief essay on personal expectations from the RN-to-BSN program and future career goals
4. If requested, an interview with the Admission Committee may be required.
