Russ Johnson, is a film and video maker and professor of filmmaking at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, USA. In 1981 he was an intern-filmmaker at Robert Redford's Sundance Film Institute in Utah and he was Artist-in-Residence at the Utah Media Center. His films have been exhibited on PBS member stations and at festivals including the New York Exposition of Short Film and Video (award), Cinema Texas International Showcase (award), Humboldt Film/Video Festival (award), the Cinema Giovanni International Film Festival in Torino, Italy and the "Air de Paris" Gallery in Nice, France. He has been the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts award and multiple Ohio Arts Council Fellowships. In 1999 he was awarded an artist residency at the Headlands Center for the Arts, in Sausalito, California.
