Careers

Career competition in the acting profession is high, and our Professional Acting Training Program is designed to develop our students’ talent, skills, and commitment to secure employment upon graduation from Wright State University. Students can find jobs in a variety of related fields and, with additional graduate training, can teach at the college or university level.

One of the most crucial times in an actor's career is immediately following graduation. It is important that the young actor be able to win acting opportunities wherever they are found. Our students have worked on and off Broadway, in National Tours, and many of the country’s finest regional theatres. They have appeared on television (sit-coms, soap operas, national commercials), films, on radio, in industrials, interactive CD-ROMS, cruise ships and themed entertainment, comedy clubs, and cabaret acts. Graduates of the program have achieved membership in professional theatrical unions including Actors' Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild, the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists.
