Matthew P. Benjamin is the resident lighting and sound designer and has been a member of the faculty of WSU since 1998. Professional credits include five seasons as the resident lighting designer for the Opera Theatre of Lucca, Italy, along with design work for the Dayton Opera, Aspen Music Festival, Muse Machine, Interlochen Center For The Arts, Opera at Florham, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, New Horizon Theatre Company, South Jersey Regional Theatre, Alley Theatre, Ballettech Ohio, Children’s Ballet Theatre of New Jersey, Little Theatre Of The Rockies, Taj Mahal Casino, Evolving Arts Theatre, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Eastern Regional Emmy Awards, among others. Prior to coming to Wright State, he served on the faculties of Stockton College of NJ, University of Cincinnati, Interlochen Center for the Arts and the New Jersey Governor’s School for the Arts. He currently serves on the Board of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology / Ohio Valley Section.
