Jon Rodriguez was coordinator of the dance program at Wright State University. He served four years as Artistic Director of the Dayton Ballet School and was Co-Associate Director of Dayton Ballet and Artistic Director of the Dayton Ballet Touring Company (forerunner of the professional company). He choreographed numerous premieres for his own company and for many other companies and colleges in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. He was ballet master/principal teacher of the Cincinnati/New Orleans Co. He danced professionally with Ballets de España in Madrid, Spain; Detroit Ballet Theatre; Cincinnati Opera Company, and the Dayton/Toledo Opera Company. He served many years on the Dance Panel of the National Foundation for the Arts and as chairman of the Panel for one term. He is the recipient of a certificate on the methodology of classical ballet from the Tbilisi State Choreographic Institute, Georgia (formerly USSR). Rodriguez was the recipient of several choreography grants from the National Endowment for the Arts; served on the Steering Committee of the DANCE/USA National Dance Education Task Force; and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Montgomery County/Board of Commissioners for his work in the field of Dance.

In April of this year he was honored by Regional Dance America, at its National Festival in Pittsburgh, for his continued commitment and dedication to the excellent teaching of young ballet dancers in the U.S.

He is presently on the Advisory Board of Regional Dance America, and continues to teach and give master classes throughout the United States.
