From Houston, TX, Greg is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Upon graduation he attended The Broadway Theatre Project, an intensive theatre program created by Ann Reinking. It was there that Gwen Verdon personally selected him to be in the Broadway company of FOSSE, where he was featured in the audience favorite, "Steam Heat." Following FOSSE, he was also featured in the Broadway company of CHICAGO, as the district attorney, "Marvin Harrison." While in CHICAGO he was cast in the workshop of NEVER GONNA DANCE, choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. It was at this time that Mr. Mitchell offered him the position of Dance Captain for a new Broadway musical HAIRSPRAY, directed by Jack O’Brien. The following summer, he became an Associate Choreographer for the National Tour of HAIRSPRAY. He continued working with Mr. Mitchell as the Assistant Choreographer for the Broadway company of NEVER GONNA DANCE, as well as the Dance Captain for DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS on Broadway, and the Associate Choreographer for the National Tour.
Greg has previously choreographed in Texas on such shows as ASSASSINS, BRIGADOON, and FOREVER PLAID. In 2005 he began choreographing his work in New York, starting with the annual Broadway Cares Equity Fight Aids fund raiser BROADWAY BARES, conceived by Mr. Mitchell. In 2007 he choreographed the Broadway adaptation of HAIRSPRAY in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He has taught and worked personally with many stars such as John Lithgow, Harvey Fierstein, Keith Carradine, Bruce Vilanch, Bebe Neuwirth, Richard Kind, & Ben Vereen to name a few.
