This class will focus on building core strength to improve your strokes and endurance. Participants will practice racing and speed work as well as moving across the board from the tail to the nose. Time will be spent on improving balance and stability while on the board. Participants should plan to get wet. This class does not include basic stroke instruction; all participants should have previous experience and instruction on a SUP to register.

This class is similar to the recreational kayaking class but in sea kayaks which are longer and move faster over the water. We will introduce you to the sport of kayaking and the equipment and outfitting involved in getting started. Participants will learn the basics of kayaking strokes, such as forward, back, sweep and draws.  You will also practice rescue techniques.  Once the class has the strokes down time will be spent exploring the lake. Sea kayaks are used for longer expeditions; we will cover how to outfit these boats with equipment for multi day expeditions.
