For nearly 1444 miles, the Buckeye Trail winds around Ohio, reaching into every corner of the state. From a beachhead on Lake Erie near Cleveland, to a hilltop overlooking the Ohio River in Cincinnati, a hiker can experience a little of all that Ohio has to offer.

Spend a night under the stars enjoying the warmth of a campfire at John Bryan State Park. Enjoy good conversation and s’mores before retiring to the tent and the sounds of nature. In the morning wake up to a warm drink and hot breakfast before hitting the trail in Clifton Gorge. Hike 2.7 miles along the raging Little Miami River with impressive overlooks complete with winter icicles transforming this valley into a winter wonderland.

 Join the Outdoor Resource Center this Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend for winter fun in northern Ohio! Stay in the MetroParks Resource Center Cabin, furnished and complete with a bathroom, kitchen, and fireplace! If conditions allow, we will go cross country skiing and snowshoeing along wintry trails. Also on the agenda is hiking in Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve, and a visit to Headlands Beach State Park! We will leave after classes on Friday afternoon and return on Monday evening.

Spend your Veterans Day weekend with the Outdoor Resource Center in the most visited national park in the United States.  Great Smoky Mountains National Park is renowned for its diversity of flora and fauna.  We will spend our days sampling the expansive trail system and our nights camped out under the stars.  Our hiking options will include luscious waterfalls and breathtaking vistas.  In case of inclement weather, a driving tour of historic Cades Cove will provide a warm, dry alternative.

A full weekend of canoeing and caving in Kentucky! We will drive down Friday morning and set up our camp for the evening before heading out on a 3.5hr wild caving challenge! This introduction to Caving will let you explore lesser-visited channels and chambers in Mammoth Cave while learning the rules and techniques of safe caving, giving you an appreciation of the cave as a special environment. Expect to climb and descend cave walls; tight belly crawls; walking in a crouched position; hand and knee crawls over rough rocks and dirt; and twisting in and out of passageway openings.

Come for a weekend of hiking and bouldering in southern Ohio! One day will be spent hiking the beautiful views of Hocking Hills from Old Man's Cave to Ash Cave. After that, we are driving over to Athens for a full day of bouldering near Stroud’s Run Park and possibly even some swimming!
