This course will introduce kayaking equipment and techniques. We will start in river kayaks at Eastwood Lake and focus on strokes, maneuvers and rescues. The second class will take place on the mad river where the class will practice eddy turns, ferries and learn to read the river as we work our way down to Riverscape MetroPark.

Join the ORC for a fun-filled day in Hocking Hills State Park! We will explore the Outback Trail in Hocking Hills on horseback passing various rock formations, including the unique "Table-top Rock." Afterwards, we will set foot on the beautiful Conkle's Hollow Trail and hike 3 1/4 miles before returning to WSU.  


This is a great trip for people of all experience levels.

Come enjoy a day of rock climbing at the Red River Gorge.  This area of Kentucky is one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in the United States.  In a day we will hike down to our destination enjoy some great climbing and hike back out.  We will explore the beautiful Muir valley along the way.  Afterwards we will stop by Miguel’s for a chance to purchase any needed gear you have on your shopping list.  This trip will be ideal for new climbers as well as some intermediate climbers looking to explore the climbing world.

Challenge yourself over break with a 29 mile loop through one of the most spectacular canyons in the world.  Elevation will range from 6,400ft on top of the South Rim down to 2,200ft along the Colorado River. Participants will carry a full backpack with personal and group gear, and travel along difficult and remote terrain. We can expect chilly evenings and warm days.  The trip includes 5 days and 4 nights in the Canyon with a rest day at the bottom to enjoy the magnificent CO River, as well as a night in Flagstaff, AZ.
