The division of Neonatology at MetroHealth Medical Center is now accepting applications for the Chester Summer Scholars Program.

This summer experience accepts up to fifteen (15) medical science students interested in exploring academic medicine and research. MetroHealth Medical Center is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is recognized as one of the finest public teaching hospitals in the country.

Since the first meeting I have met with our faculty advisor, Jacqui Neal, about plans for the upcoming year and will discuss some of the brainstorming ideas we had. We will be talking about fundraising, t-shirts, and elections for Vice President, Secretary, and an Event Coordinator. Please let me know if you have questions about or are interested in running for one of these positions.

Justin Lodge, P.T., D.P.T., a physical therapist with Wright State Orthopaedics, will discuss the benefits of different types of exercise, the proper progression of exercises and the prevention of common injuries. Lodge is a 2007 Wright State University graduate. He also earned a doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Dayton in 2010.
