STUDENT GOVERNMENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE
There are a number of Student Government positions open for the fall election, coming up on October 5th. We currently have three Senate positions open: University College, the College of Nursing and Health, and Graduate Studies. In order to be a candidate, you must be a student in one of these colleges. Freshman, for those of you in University College, this is a great way to quickly become involved with leadership opportunities on campus. Each Senate position is a paid position, and to learn more about the position, simply visit our website at www.wsusg.com or stop by our office, located in the basement of the Student Union (under the Wright Cup). Applications and signatures are due by September 25th.
There are also two openings available for the position of Associate Justice. This is a volunteer position; however students can earn class credit for their work. One of the positions will focus on working with the Think Ohio campaign, a grassroots organization of students at public universities working to improve Ohio’s higher education situation. This position would focus on legislative research, voter education, and organizing meetings with politicians. The other associate justice position will work on organizing the spring presidential and general elections, along with assisting with Constitutional and By-Law issues, interpretation, and revision.
Student Government is a unique opportunity to bring change and improve WSU. If interested in any of the above positions, or if you have any general questions, please feel free to contact Chief Justice Dylan Borchers at borchers.17@wright.edu or 775-5528. |
