DAYTON HELP
You are not alone. Herpes is estimated to affect some 80 million people in America. At least one in five adults in the United States has genital herpes. Sometimes, you need to talk and share with others your experiences living with Herpes. Dayton HELP meets the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. At each meeting members may listen, talk, and explore how to live with Herpes, talk with partners, and manage symptoms. You can come to one group or every meeting…it depends on the HELP you need. There is no cost to participate and participation is confidential.

TAASC: THE ADAPTIVE ADVENTURE SPORTS COALITION
TAASC Volunteer Overview

Join Wright State University's Department of Campus Recreation, Five Rivers Outdoors, and TAASC to learn about The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC). The mission of TAASC is to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities by providing sports and recreational activities and to offer opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership, and training in collaboration with community-based organizations. This presentation will give an overview and description of TAASC and adaptive sports in general, which include cycling, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, alpine skiing, and ice skating. People will also learn how they can be involved as either volunteers or participants. For more information on TAASC, go to www.taasc.org.

MULTICULTURAL HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

A collaborative effort of WSU students from different student organizations. Along with the traditional Halloween customs of North America, the event will showcase various fall holidays and celebrations around the world. These include the African American "Kwanzaa;" the Asian Indian "Diwali;" the Chinese and Vietnamese "Mid-Autumn Festival;" "Chusok," the Korean Thanksgiving; the Japanese "Bon" holiday; the Nigerian "Yam Festival;" the Mexican "Day of the Dead;" and the Native American Fall Harvest. A special feature of the event will be the various costumes, diversity of music, traditional ethnic holiday dances besides Halloween, and numerous multicultural foods.

LOW ROPES COURSE
WSU Low Ropes Course, Achilles Hill

This is the first step to becoming a trained facilitator on the WSU low ropes course. The WSU low ropes course contains 11 elements built specifically to help groups explore their inner dynamics and help build relationships. The elements are diverse and vary greatly in the degree of physical and mental involvement required for a group to succeed. The facilitator's role is crucial on the challenge course. This weekend training will take you through the course both as a participant and facilitator; you will learn new games, initiatives, and techniques. This is an active, hands-on, experimental training. If you are looking to add leadership to your resume, you have found an incredible opportunity.
