Wright State had a very respectable competitive team in the early 90's.  I, however, have little knowledge of this.  I received an e-mail from WSU Alum, Mike Lewis.  He had this to say:

I couldn't have been happier running across your web site for the WSU Men's
Club team.  My name is Mike Lewis and I was a member of the Raider team in
the early 90s.  The success of these teams is not a myth.  We were indeed an
extremely competitive team that competed at the highest national levels.  We
participated in many tournaments across the U.S. and even earned a national
ranking in the club polls.  We had a full schedule and even campus support
for our home games.  Many of our players went on to play on some very
successful USAV teams winning a number of the Ohio Valley Region and
national tournaments.  Some players from our teams continue to play and
coach the sport of volleyball today.

I would like to put together an alumni list of WSU club players.  Please e-mail and let me know when you played and what year you graduated and anything else of interest.

The Men's Club as we know it started in the 2001-2002 season.  This year however, the team did not travel to any tournaments or play any real games we just practiced and had fun

The 2002-2003 season was our first true season.  It was basically our first year as a club.  We had no money and little organization but we made it to several tournaments at Wittenberg University, the University of Dayton.  This was also our first year as a member of MIVA.  We played in one playdate, hosted by Wittenberg and we also traveled to the MIVA championships held at the University of Michigan.  We held our own there and managed to finish in second place in the Silver bracket of division 2.

The 2003-2004 season we had another good year.  This was the first year that we hosted a tournament, the First Annual Raider Invitational Tournament.  We participated in MIVA playdates at Miami University and at Wabash University.  The MIVA Championships this year were held at Northern Illinois University.  We had great pool play but lost to some teams we shouldn't have.  We ended up winning the bronze bracket of division 2.
