Resolving an Academic Complaint

At some time during your education at Wright State, you may feel that you have been treated unfairly by a member of the faculty. Your complaint may be related to a grade, the course requirements, the teaching method employed by the instructor, or any other matter.

The first person with whom you should discuss your concern is the faculty member involved. If your concern is not resolved at that level, you may wish to discuss the matter with the department chair. If attempts to resolve a problem at the department level fail, you may wish to consult with the dean of the college or school. A student who has voiced a complaint through these channels and still feels that the situation was not justly resolved may bring the matter to the attention of the Office of the Vice President for Curriculum and Instruction.

Your academic advisor or a member of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services staff may be called upon to provide support and discuss the complaint procedure during your attempt to resolve an academic complaint.
