Delta Tau Delta Fraternity:

  • Project Linus
    • Made blankets for sick children at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center
  • Adopt-A-School (Delta Tau Delta’s national philanthropy)
    • Tomorrow Counts ’05-’06  – once a week literacy tutoring program at Baker Middle School
    • Ohio Reads ’06-’07  – Once a week literacy tutoring program at Fairborn Elementary School
    • Playground Pals ’06-’07 – teach children different playground games and act as a chaperone during recess
  • Relay For Life
    • 2006 - $2,200 raised for the American Cancer Society
    • 2007 - $1,500 raised for the American Cancer Society
  • Greene County Heart Walk 2007
    • Joint team with Phillips’ Companies raised over $5,000
    • Volunteered as set up and tear down crew
  • Freshmen Move-in Day 2006
    • Chapter volunteered to help incoming freshmen move into their new dorms.
    • The entire chapter volunteered for a total of 50 hrs combined.

Kappa Delta Sorority:

  • Prevent Child Abuse America (Kappa Delta’s national philanthropy)
    • $1,500 raised during KD Shamrock 5k walk/run 2007 for P.C.A.A.’s Ohio chapter
  • Volunteered with local Girl Scout troop at Children’s Hospital
  • Volunteered with Boys and Girls’ Club at Wright Patterson Air Force Base
    • Played games and gave facials to a group of young women
  • Completed 160 hrs of community service in the ’06-’07 school year with KD and other chapters’ philanthropies

Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity:

  • $1,201 raised for Special Wish Foundation
  • 96 hours served at The Veterans’ Hospital
  • Raised $355.50 for the families of Virginia Tech

Phi Sigma Phi Fraternity:

  • Mardi Party 2006
    • Riased $2,000 for Westside Baptist Church in Hamilton, OH after arson destroyed the church’s vans
  • Mardi Party 2007
    • Raised $1,500 for the Ellen Weigel Scholarship Fund
  • Volunteered at Brookside Extended Care in Mason, OH
  • Donated Christmas presents to students at Northridge Elementary School
  • Volunteered for a river clean up

Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity:

  • Sigma Phi Epsilon’s national philanthropy is Youth Aids
  • During the 2006-’07 school year Sig Ep completed 100+ hours of community service for organizations such as Relay For Life, March of Dimes, Habitat For Humanity, and during the Greek Affairs Council’s Greeks Hit the Streets.

Theta Phi Alpha Sorority:

  • Awards
    • WSU Greek Awards 2006 Most Community Service
    • 2007 Excellence in Philanthropy by Theta Phi Alpha’s national office
  • Relay For Life 2007
    • 140 hours combined walking by members
    • $900+ dollars raised
  • Miracles For Madison
    • 100 hours of service
  • Greek Affairs Council’s Greeks Hit the Streets
    • 64 combined hours of service
  • St. Vincent’s
    • Breakfast Service – 64 hours
    • Donation Drive – 3 hours
    • May Daze booth – 10 hours
    • $25 raised
  • Camp Friendship Bracelets and Bubbles
    • 116 combined hours (done during recruitment)
    • $35 raised
  • Habitat For Humanity Shoot-Out
    • 6 hours participated
  • March of Dimes
    • $125 raised
  • Theta Phi Alpha also participated in all other Greek sponsored philanthropy events

Zeta Tau Alpha:

  • Awards
    • 2007 WSU Greek Awards’ Outstanding Community Service
  • Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness
    • $2,500 raised for Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, which in turn goes to Susan G. Komen, Breast Cancer Awareness
    • 100+ hours of service during Breast Fest and Strikes Against Breast Cancer
  • Breast Fest 2007 will be October 1st-5th and Strikes Against Breast Cancer will be October 7th
