Minutes:

1) Spring Break Trip to Chicago

The total trip cost has dropped below $200.

The deadline for attending the Chicago trip has been set at March 7, 2008. Once there is a finalized list of who is going, there will be a meeting to make definite plans/book hotel rooms/etc.

Dawne and Andrea will work on making contacts at the Chicago History Museum, the Field Museum, the Art Institute, the Museum of Science and Industry, and possibly a local archives center to see if discounted or free admissions can be obtained.

Travel arrangements are still pending, as fares cannot be booked on MegaBus until closer to the trip date.

Hotel accommodations will likely be at the Wright Inn or a nearby hotel, located in Oak Park.

2) National History Day

Bridget Federspiel of Stivers School for the Arts is still in need of volunteer judges for National History Day on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Judges need to arrive by 8am for breakfast and orientation. Judging takes place between 9 and 11am, followed by lunch for the judges. This is a great opportunity to interact with high school students about their history projects. Deadline to sign up is Monday, March 3, 2008. Please contact Andrea, green.143@wright.edu, if you have any questions or are interested in signing up.

3) Ohio Museums Association Annual Conference in Dayton, March 9-10, 2008.

Scholarships are available for students who wish to attend. Seminars will cover topics such as: Exhibits, Educational Programming, Interpretation, Podcasting, Grant Writing, and more. Contact Andrea, green.143@wright.edu, if you are interested in more information.
