May 18, 19, 20, 21 – 2009 – Our First Busy Person RetreatHow can you find God in the midst of your busy life at school, work and home?
What is a "Busy Person Retreat"?The model for this retreat was first created for a university campus and was for students. Other campuses have since expanded it to include faculty and staff. We decided to open it to everyone on our first try.
A "Busy Person Retreat" is a way to grow in awareness of self, others, the world, and God as you ask yourself:
Who am I at this moment?
What am I busy about?
How can I get in touch with my true self?
Where can I find God in daily life?
This self-paced retreat gives you a chance to nourish your heart and soul, to find spiritual energy and meaning in your life, and to see where you are on your journey to God.
Taking just a few minutes out of your busy day to tap into your spiritual energy could give you the serenity you long for. While sitting uninterrupted in a quiet space, you can think over a concern or lift your mind and soul to God. Pondering about, or reflecting on, is simply meditation--quieting the usual "busy-ness" of your mind and spirit.
What is my Commitment if I decide to participate in this retreat?
How do I participate?In-person registration will be at Campus Ministry on May 13 and 14 from Noon to 6:00. At that time, you will pick up an introductory packet, pay the fee (checks to Catholic Campus Ministry or correct change appreciated), sign up for a time to meet with a Retreat Team Member to share reflection. Final packets and prayer partners are available after Monday morning prayer. For more information, call 426-1836 or email email@example.com.
Who is sponsoring this event and who is eligible to participate? This endeavor is sponsored by Catholic Campus Ministry and Sharing the Light Campus Ministry (United Methodist Student Movement). It is open to Wright State faculty, staff and students who are interested in discovering God in their everyday lives.
