About Us

NCSA is a Catholic student organization that serves the students and faculty of Wright State University. We offer Masses and prayer groups, service activities, and a variety of social events to build and support the Wright State community. Although we are a Catholic religious organization, we welcome students and faculty of all faiths.

This year marks the NCSA's 40th year at Wright State University, and we look forward to many more!

Staff

Rev. Edward Burns
Fr. Ed is originally from West Chester, Ohio (St. John Parish). He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Theatre Arts from Heidelberg College in 1995. Ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 2004, he earned an MDiv from Mt. St. Mary's Seminary the same year. Since his ordination, he was the Parochial Vicar (Associate Pastor) at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cincinnati. He also was a part-time faculty member of Archbishop McNicholas High School, and was also chaplain of the football team. Fr. Ed has been the Director of Catholic Campus Ministry since July of 2006. He is a die-hard Cleveland Indians fan, and somehow manages to balance his love for both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

Joan Marquis, Campus Minister
Joan grew up in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania where she enjoyed singing in the choir and sports. Throughout her life, Joan has been active in the Church. After raising 3 children, she completed an Assoc. in Music Performance (Classic Guitar) at Sinclair Community College and a BA from Capital University in Columbus. Joan began working at Campus Ministry in 1995 and completed an MA in Theology at the University of Dayton in the summer of 2000. Whether planning liturgies and retreats, working with the computer, sharing in Bible study, or playing the guitar, Joan is a spirited team member.
