Wright State University has been offering classes in Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu for many years now, and through that time has trained thousands of students. Each quarter, more than twenty students take the Beginning Karate class, and the enrollment in the Intermediate Karate class ranges from 15 to 25, with a wide range of ranks. The Intermediate Karate class allows a student to test up through black belt ranks.
There has been a WSU Karate Club that allows karate students the opportunity to train informally together, to work on their techniques and katas outside of class time, and to get to know other karate practitioners. The Karate Club also maintains an electronic mailing list for discussion and to notify members of events.
All of the WSU Karate classes meet in 330 Nutter Center (Multipurpose Room) on the main Wright State University campus. The room has two walls with full mirrors and two walls with pads. The floor is covered with rubber tile.
