Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Wright State University SHRM Student Chapter, an affiliate of the national professional Society for Human Resource Management organization, to provide students with a breadth and depth of human resource management experience and knowledge. We will accomplish this by staying abreast of new developments in the field of human resource management, promoting professional development through involvement and interaction with human resource practitioners, and by offering meaningful activities that contribute to the growth from students to competent HR professionals.

Chapter Goals

 

The continuous goals of the Wright State University SHRM Student Chapter include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

· RECEIVE THE OUTSTANDING STUDENT CHAPTER AWARD!!!

· Achieve Superior Merit Award given by SHRM

· Increase SHRM Student Chapter membership

· Increase Miami Valley Human Resource Association membership

· Increase services provided to Miami Valley Human Resource Association

· Increase visibility of the club within the business community

· Attend the Ohio SHRM Annual Conference

· Attend the National SHRM Annual Conference

· Develop Student Resume Book and distribute to local SHRM Chapter and local businesses

· Actively participate in the Wright State Human Resources Lecture Series and Recruiting Day events

· Increase awareness about the human resources field to local high schools

· Have at least four student sit for the PHR exam in the current academic year

· Arrange informative guest speakers emphasizing current HR issues

· Arrange one company tour per quarter

· Prepare and distribute a monthly newsletter

· Increase student member involvement
