Division I winners - Party Boyz

Division II winners - Daytons Indians
Fabulous job done by Sumi and team management conducting such a successful and highly appreciated tennis ball tournament so professionally !!!
Hats off to all the management guys and Sumi. She did her job really well.
She took all the snaps very diligently. It was a very tough and responsible job since she was handeling school camera (a very expensive one)
and she captured some of finest moments. She was on field right from begining.
Awesome Job Sumi... - Kushal

Teams: WSU VS UCC
Located: Played at WSU on June 20 2009
Its UCC again !! thats what the members of WSU have in their mind. Its been all defeats with UCC until now and raiders are geared up to defeat UCC this time at home. Bhushan won the toss and right decided to bat. Vishnu and Hemanth started the innings for WSU. Vishnu fell in the second over after playing solidly. Hemanth and Kushal continued a good partnership of 48 runs when Kushal fell to a spinner last over before the first break. Hemanth was out after scoring 33 runs. Bhushan and Arunesh had a very good and quick of 50 runs for 6th wicket until arunesh perished to catch to point. Saurabh chipped in and final score of 170 was made by WSU, which they were feeling confident.
UCC batsman batted with only striking the ball in their mind. Opener chandru hit a six and a four and perished to a keeper catch for vikas. Mayur too fell for lbw. With two quick wickets UCC left the ship to be controlled by inform batsman anurag and subodh. Anurag heaped in the air when he was on 1, when a mix up left to a drop catch. Anurag quickly captilized on that and was going great guns. There was no neutral umpire for the game and wsu bowlers were feeling the need for one with decisions not going their way. There was one more catch drop of anurag after the first break, which proved to be very crucial. Bhushan and Hemanth, the two spinners were been beated for runs by UCC batsman. Saurabh picked subodh for a ball that kept and low and Anurag was run out. UCC batsman finished the game with plenty overs to spare.
One more time WSU Raiders fell to UCC.
Catches Win Matches - Arunesh Roy
Strong showing by team WSU albeit against a weaker opponent. BK wins his 1st toss in a long time and decides to bat first on a damp ground. With the grass in some parts reaching almost knee high, it felt like we were playing in a swamp. The openers shrugged off all their demons and had a solid partnership going into the 1st break. With a half century partnership under the belt, Sachin and Hemanth started opening their shoulders up when Sachin got run out against the run of play. Milinda then got involved in a mix-up with the omniously well-set Hemanth leading to Hemanth getting run out. Milli obviously was affected by the poor communication and threw his wicket away too. Dakshin and Arunesh started rebuilding but Arunesh too gave his wicket away gift-wrapped. Utsav and Pablo though saw us safely to the 2nd break. After the 2nd break, Utsav and Pablo perished too but BK came in and played an excellent cameo knocking two towering sixes. He was supported well by Saurabh who played a composed innings and finished for WSU along with Mupala. The target was set at 175. Vikas, continues to show improvement in every game, bowled smartly at the opening, even slipping in a maiden over. Arunesh took a nice catch off Vikas' bowling at mid-on and then returned the next over the take a scalp off his own, with Sachin nicely timing his jump to haul in a upper cut over gully. Milli then started siffling the batting team and picked up two wickets for just 5 runs. It was then up to Utsav and BK to clean up the rest of the team. Vikas pouched a wonderful catch at deep mid-wicket and only added to his reputation as one of the best fielders in WSU. A highlight moment was the catch off BK's bowling by Arunesh. A hard chase from long-on to long-off punctuated by fully out-stretched arms to grab a long hit and with it all hopes of a comeback by RPCC. To end it all off, even Jimi took a high floating catch at short mid-wicket. With a win under their belt, WSU looks ahead to finally get the UCC monkey off their back!
For 2008 Season, practice will be on Tuesdays and Fridays starting at 5:00 PM on Smithville ground.
