Personal Development

And for this very reason also, adding all diligence, supply bountifully in your faith virtue; and in virtue, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, endurance; and in endurance, godliness; and in godliness, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, love.

2 Peter 1:5-7

No matter what career you are hoping to get into, whether it is in engineering, business, education, medicine, or the arts, the more well-rounded you are the more apt you will be in any situation. Christians on Campus provides an atmosphere at Wright State for you to develop academically, spiritually and interpersonally.

As students, who are seeking the deep and high truths of the Bible, we feel that it is important to maintain a high and proper testimony academically before our professors, fellow classmates and friends. Therefore, we endeavor to help one another to do well in our classes. Many of the members of Christians on Campus are either upper classmen finishing their baccaleureate degrees or have finished their undergraduate studies and are now pursuing a graduate degree. With such experience they are able and willing to tutor or help with various projects. Hence, our goal, corporately, is not just to "get by" or "pass," but to advance honorably.

We also aspire to grow spiritually. We are not satisfied with just getting saved, but rather, our goal is that we would all mature spiritually. Just as Paul told the Colossians that his goal was to present every man full grown in Christ. And he told the Romans that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God (Rom 8:14). In this verse Paul's use of the word "sons" instead of children implies maturity in life. Lastly, Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:2 that "As newborn babes, long for the guileless milk of the word in order that by it you may grow...." We help each other to feed on the word in this principle in order that we may grow.

Mere competency in a particular profession is no guarantee for success. Interpersonal skills are a crucial asset in the increasingly demanding business world. After college you will find that the skills that you have aquired will become invaluable to you and the business that you are in. During your college years, the time you spend with others will cultivate your ability to interact. We have found that our time together as a club equips us with the proper tools we need to acheive our goals and the ultimate goal is that we all would come to know, experience, enjoy and express our dear Lord Jesus.
