What kind of grades do the members of Beta Theta Pi get?
Grades are our top priority. Academic achievement is one of our fraternity's goals and we are always striving for
the top honors. Many of our Brothers are listed on the Dean's List as well as carry a 4.0 GPA!
Is there a grade requirement I must meet?
All members, including pledges, must achieve a GPA of no less that 2.5 on the 4-point scale. No new member will
be initiated unless they earn a 2.5 during their pledge quarter.
How much will my bill be?
The pledge bill is $375 for your first year. This covers dues, initiation costs, insurance, pledge materials,
pledge pin, and social fees. In addition, if you achieve a 4.0 GPA during your pledge quarter, Beta will buy your
next quarter's text books.
How many parties do you have throughout the quarter?
We have one enormous theme parties in the spring: Beta Lei, directly following our Annual Volleyball Tournament
in the morning. In addition, we have several "late nights," 1-2 socials with sororities, formals, banquets and
various pledge socials.
What are some advantages to membership in Beta, as opposed to other fraternities?
Diversity, well-rounded individuals with similar goals, and most importantly, the tightest brotherhood on campus.
How involved is Beta in on-campus activities?
Our brothers can be found in every activity from InterFraternity Council and Community Governments, to Residence
Life, Model UN and the University Athletics Teams. We strive to help assimilate new members into activities outside
the fraternity.
What kind of time commitment should I expect?
Beta is a life long commitment. Just ask any Brother. As Betas, we take pride in a 162 year tradition of excellence.
To receive the full experience of college life and to continue to excel, we are very committed to scholastic
achievement, involvement in campus organizations and philanthropic events, and intramural success. The achievement
of these goals and the life principles by which we live hinges upon the commitment of each individual member. As you
can see, we do it, and do it well, and we still have fun in the process... You can too!
