The Tendo dojo was a pretty average place until Ranma Saotome and his father Genma arrived. Soun Tendo, the dojo's master, had promised one of his daughters in marriage to Genma, but on the appointed day of their arrival he is greeted by a panda and a girl instead of a father and son! It's soon revealed that during their martial arts training in China, Ranma and his father happened upon a magical cursed spring. Now whenever Ranma or his father is doused in cold water, they change into a girl and a giant panda, respectively. Soun finds himself amenable to their position, but what about his daughter Akane, to whom Ranma is promised?
