ARMY ROTC OPPORTUNITY

Summer will be here before you know it.  Your plans may include catching a few rays, or working at a basic entry-level summer job.  Now Army ROTC has a wonderful opportunity for accelerating your leadership development along with your managerial skills to achieve your future goals for advanced employment.  Army ROTC offers a paid summer leadership development program that will assist you in the achievement of these goalsThe Army ROTC Leader’s Training Course (LTC) is the Army’s 2-year AROTC Program entry point.  Through the Leader's Training Course, students without AROTC Basic Course experience can examine the Army first-hand, and qualify for Advanced Course (final two years of school) entry.  The Army ROTC instructors observe college students from around the country to determine and assess their officer potential in a leadership oriented, challenging, and fun four-week training program at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

You can spend 4 weeks with other college students like yourself!  Have fun while participating in:

       Rappelling

       Stream Crossing

       Land Navigation

       Obstacle Courses

       Weapons Training

       Night Operations

       Water Survival

       Tarzan Assault. Course

      Paintball

       Survival Skills

       Equipment Demos

      Physical Fitness

       Sports/Team Development Course

      Confidence Course/Tactics

      Leadership Training

Upon successful completion of the Leader’s Training Course, two-year scholarship is offered.  The total value of this package exceeds $22,000 over two years.

BOOK DRIVE

– The Wright State chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society will be holding a book drive in association with Better World Books. Used textbooks will be collected and distributed to areas in need such as Africa or New Orleans.  Donation will be accepted during finals week:

November 13th - November 17th.

STUDENT HONORS ASSOCIATION COSTUME PARTY

Lots of fun for a good cause! The Student Honors Association is hosting a costume party on October 30th from 7:00-10:00pm. The party will be in the 2nd floor plaza of honors hall. Admission is 2 canned goods or $2 which will be donated to a food pantry. Come for fall treats and a chance to win some great prizes. There will be a costume contest at 8:30.

‘Diwali” is the biggest festival celebrated in India as Christmas is celebrated here.  And so the biggest function ISA organizes on campus is Diwali.  Indian traditional dances, vocal, and instrumental music and Indian food are the attractions of the event.  This is not only a celebration but also an opportunity for our American and international friends to understand age-old cultures and traditions of India and enjoy various beautiful forms of art along with authentic Indian cuisine.  The cost of a ticket is $7 and they will be sold at the door and in the student union box office.
