MINI GOLF PRESENTATION
This year the University Activities Board is hosting a mini golf competition in the Student Union. Here is the catch: you are not competing by playing mini golf (although you are more than welcome to do so) but rather about who can build the best golf hole! Space is limited, so slots will be on a first come, first serve basis. You need not be a student organization to compete! Office departments, residences halls, faculty, or even just a group of friends may participate. This is a great opportunity to advertise your organization/office/cause and show campus just how incredible you are early in the school year. All golf holes should be somewhat portable ( i.e. they cannot be bolted to the floor etc.) and sturdy enough to play on. Also please make them reasonable, for instance please don't add deadly chainsaws or live fireworks! The event is set to take place on October 27th and 28th in the Student Union.
There will be a $200 prize for the best golf hole!!!! For questions or to register your team, email Chris Hale at hale.29@wright.edu . Good luck and may the best team win!

BE SURE YOUR VOTE COUNTS
You will see some new rules in effect when you go to vote in the election on November 7. The most significant of these is the requirement that each voter show identification at the polls. The following information is intended to help make sure that your trip to the polls is trouble-free.
Check your Registration before October 10, 2006. You can verify your voter registration by calling the Statewide Election Hotline (1-866-OUR VOTE , calling the Ohio Secretary of States office (1-877-767-6446) or calling your county Board of Elections. You may also visit your county Board of Elections Website (Some counties allow you to check registration on-line).
Take Identification to the Polls ? It is now the law! Acceptable Identification consists of a government photo ID (Ohio Driver’s license or State ID- showing either your current or your former address, as long as the ID has not expired). You may also use one of the following if it shows your current address: military ID, copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or government document showing your name and current address. (You cannot use the notice you received from the Board of Elections.)
Note: A student ID is not considered a valid ID for voting purposes.
Consider requesting an Absentee Ballot and avoid the lines. The State of Ohio now allows registered voters to vote an absentee ballot. Call or stop by your local Board of Elections and ask for an Absentee Ballot Request Form. Return the completed form to the Board of Elections immediately and they will send you an Absentee Ballot.
Additional Information on issues and voting at: www.lwvohio.org.
