WRIGHT-LINK STUDENT VOLUNTEER SERVICES

Hey everyone my name is Ga’Nene the new Project Coordinator, of the new program Wright-Link student volunteer services. Wright-Link is student volunteer services that find students like you volunteer opportunities in the community. We will try to place you at a site of your desired interest or particular major area. We also can find a volunteer project for your whole organization to participate in! COULD VOLUNTEERING BE ANY EASIER!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS…….

1.         Call or visit The Office of Student Activities x5575 ask to speak to Ga’Nene OR    by email Edwards.72@wright.edu
2.         Fill out a volunteer application
3.         We will check out a list of volunteer opportunities
4.         You will choose one that you or your organization would like to do
5.         I will contact the agency
6.         Confirm a date
7.         Take care of any paper work
8.         GO VOLUNTEER!

"DORSAL ROOT REFLEXES, NEUROGENIC INFLAMMATION, AND PAIN"

Presented by William D. Willis, M.D., Ph.D., professor of neuroscience and cell biology and Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Distinguished Chair in Neuroscience, University of Texas Medical Branch.

Professor Willis is a world leader in the field of sensory neurobiology and has made seminal contributions to the understanding of pain mechanisms. In this lecture, he will talk about his current research on the role of dorsal root reflexes in neurogenic peripheral inflammation.

THE HEALTHY WOMAN: WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN THROUGH ILLNESS

This is a free, half-day conference that will address the various mental,physical, and social health issues present when women get sick and when women care for other women. The conference focuses on empowering women to engage in effective self-care when caring for others and also how to effectively care for the women they love through an illness. The Healthy Women conference is appropriate for mental health providers, higher education professionals and others who make referrals, and all other interested people.

Keynote is at 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Space is limited to 80 participants for conference sections.
