MINI GOLF COMPETITION
This year the University Activities Board is hosting a mini golf competition in the Student Union. Here is the catch: you are not competing by playing mini golf (although you are more than welcome to do so) but rather about who can build the best golf hole! Space is limited, so slots will be on a first come, first serve basis. You need not be a student organization to compete! Office departments, residences halls, faculty, or even just a group of friends may participate. This is a great opportunity to advertise your organization/office/cause and show campus just how incredible you are early in the school year. All golf holes should be somewhat portable ( i.e. they cannot be bolted to the floor etc.) and sturdy enough to play on. Also please make them reasonable, for instance please don't add deadly chainsaws or live fireworks! The event is set to take place on October 27th and 28th in the Student Union.
There will be a $200 prize for the best golf hole!!!! For questions or to register your team, email Chris Hale at hale.29@wright.edu . Good luck and may the best team win!

TIE THE KNOTS
Outdoor Resource Center
Tuesday, October 10, 6pm-8pm
Learning to tie a much-needed knot in the dark on the side of a cliff when it's cold and raining is not such a good idea. That's why we're offering a class covering several of the necessary knots you'll need to get yourself home safely from such a wilderness excursion...all in the safety and comfort of a climate controlled environment with ample indoor lighting. Some of the knots you will learn how to tie will be the figure eight, bowline, alpine hitch, water knot, prusik, and sheet bend. We will also cover when and where to use or not use these knots and the basics of rope, line, and webbing. By the end of the night, you'll be on your way to being able to tie these knots blindfolded from memory. This is an excellent class for climbers, those looking to brush up on their knot skills, or those that just want a better way to secure the gear in their garage. Come by yourself or grab a friend and tie the knots.
Registration Closes: Friday, October 6, 5pm
Cost: $5.00
Cost Includes: Instruction, equipment, & staff
Exertion Level: Easy
To register for this event or for more information on Outdoor Recreation, stop by the Outdoor Resource Center located in E008 Student Union or call us at (937) 775-5019. http://www.wright.edu/crec/programs/outdoor.html
