Glen Helen, for those of you who have not yet experienced it, is our local treasure, Antioch
College’s beautiful nature preserve in Yellow Springs. It has nearly 1000 acres of forests, meadows, a prairie, cascades, deep valleys, streams, ledges, birds, wildlife, trails, a bird of prey rehabilitation center, Trailside Museum, Nature Shop in the Glen Helen Building, and
yes -- a yellow spring.

Hundreds of visitors come to the Glen each week, even in winter time and many more are expected with the coming of spring. You are hereby invited to contribute some of your time to the Glen in its beautiful surroundings.

Looking for both adult volunteers and adult/child volunteer teams:
-To serve as docents at Glen Helen’s Trailside Museum
-Greet visitors & answer general questions
-Guide visitors through exhibits
-Care for resident reptiles

Volunteer Youth Mentor
Support At-Risk Youth ages 15-17 achieve specific individual goals in the areas of social skills and school achievement.  Help instill positive values, self esteem and motivation, encourage commitment to learning, go on fun field trips. 

Looking for a 12 month overall commitment, with a minimum of 4 hours a month, the scheduling will vary greatly and depend on activities and needs.

Goodwill Easter Seals and community locations will provide worksite. 

Qualifications:
No felony or probation within the past 5 years
Must possess a valid drivers license will less than 6 points and proof of insurance
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All training will be provided.

SOLAR OBSERVING MONDAYS

Astronomy Club will be observing the sun through our club telescope, which is now outfitted with our NEW full-aperture glass solar filter! We will also have a table with information on the sun and our organization, the Astronomy Club. Please stop by if you are in the area!

Dirty Dancing, hosted by Latinos Unidos. Have you ever wanted to know how dance salsa? We will teach everyone how to salsa dance from 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. – then the party will start! Party like a Latino! This is for everyone, we will play music for everyone to enjoy! Celebrate diversity with Latinos Unidos. Tickets will cost $1.00 before the event and $3.00 at the door.

WATER FEST

UAB and Greek Affairs is hosting the first Water Fest at WSU. All activities and props will revolve around water; including a Water-Pong Tournament, a Water Flip-Cup Tournament, and a Water-based Relay done in beer-goggles! Prizes will be given to winners of these competitions. These activities, and more, are to promote alternative activities destructive drinking decisions. Don’t miss out on this new event with snack, drinks, and new challenges with your favorite games: wearing beer-goggles while playing corn-hole, Pictionary, and more!
