2010 Orientation/First Weekend Team Leader
The selection to be a member of WSU’s Orientation/First Weekend Team is an honor as-well-as a rewarding opportunity for professional and personal growth. Each year, the Office of Enrollment Management selects a group of mature and dedicated undergraduate student leaders to assist with implementing Orientation/First Weekend programs. Orientation/First Weekend Leaders serve as peer educators, group facilitators, performers, resource contacts, and role models to incoming and transfer students; also assisting their families making a smooth transition to WSU both academically and socially.
"ORIENTATION LEADERS" will mentor groups of first year students through the 2010 Orientation program scheduled the summer prior to classes, May – September 2010.
“FIRST WEEKEND LEADERS" will mentor groups of first year students through the 2010 First Weekend Institutes program scheduled the weekend prior to Fall Quarter 2010 classes.
Applications (Phase Two): Applications are now available and can be picked up in the Office of Enrollment Management located in 210 Medical Sciences Building. All applicants (including previous Team Leaders) must return a completed application along with two Orientation/First Weekend Leader Recommendation Forms (included in the application packet) to 210 Medical Sciences Building no later than 5:00pm Friday, March 12, 2010.

University Night at Dayton Philharmonic: Bond, James Bond with Jeans ‘n Classics

James Bond films are studies in spellbinding forward motion punctuated by moments of romance, wit and kitsch. Always, great music propels the action. In this hard-hitting performance, Canadian rock ensemble Jeans ’n Classics joins the Dayton Philharmonic for a big blast of action-packed spy music. Patrick Reynolds takes the podium as the Orchestra hits the stage behind the hard-rockin’ guests, playing songs from the films such as the James Bond Theme, Goldfinger, Tomorrow Never Dies, and more!
Ticket voucher includes:
FREE RTA bus ride to and from the performance (bus leaves from RTA bus stop in front of the Student Union at 5:50 p.m.)
FREE pre-performance reception at Boston Stoker on 2nd Street, 6:30-7:30 p.m. (Seats will be assigned at the reception. Must come to the reception to redeem voucher for show ticket.)

Volunteer Youth Mentor
Support At-Risk Youth ages 15-17 achieve specific individual goals in the areas of social skills and school achievement. Help instill positive values, self esteem and motivation, encourage commitment to learning, go on fun field trips.
Looking for a 12 month overall commitment, with a minimum of 4 hours a month, the scheduling will vary greatly and depend on activities and needs.
Goodwill Easter Seals and community locations will provide worksite.
Qualifications:
No felony or probation within the past 5 years
Must possess a valid drivers license will less than 6 points and proof of insurance
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
All training will be provided.
