| PROJECT PROM
Wright State's Project Linus, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting a prom dress swap at Fairborn High School on February 2, 2008. This is a great opportunity for you to clean out your closet and get rid of your old formal dresses and make some fast money at the same time!
We will charge you ten dollars for each dress that you wish to sell. You put the price on your dress and at the end of the day if your dress is sold you walk away with all the profit. Your only investment is the ten dollar entry fee. If no one buys your dress you can pick it up and take it home.
We are also accepting dress donations; however, we will only take donations before the day of the sale. Please e-mail Cimmeron Taylor at taylor.223@wright.edu, to work out details of donating your dress.
All proceeds will benefit Project Linus to purchase fleece so that we can reach our goal of 1,000 blankets.

Wednesday, January 23
6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
E163 Student Union
This film portrays a diverse group of 16 students at the University of California, Berkeley participating in a semester-long dialogue focusing on issues of race, class and gender. As the students share personal stories, debate hot topics, and confront one another about the role race plays in their lives, they make discoveries about their preconceived ideas and assumptions, and in so doing, help them begin to disentangle their own.
There will be a facilitated discussion following the film, which will provide a safe space for an open and honest dialogue, addressing the issues depicted in the film and related issues most students at college campuses across the country experience in their academic, social, and work environment.
Refreshments will be provided during both events
For more information and to register for What’s Race Got to Do With It? see: http://www.libraries.wright.edu/about/events/

"CAN I BE A FEMINIST AND...?"
Thursday, January 24
2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
E156 Student Union
Activists and authors Jennifer Baumgardner & Amy Richards
The women's movement of the past four decades has irrevocably changed the world, opening professional doors for women and emotional outlets to men. But what does it really mean to be a feminist today? Is the women's movement still necessary? Are men part of it? Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards, well-known leaders in feminism's "Third Wave," will discuss the current state of feminism-its myths and its potential.
Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards met in 1993 in the offices of Ms. magazine and have been collaborators ever since. They are the co-authors of two widely read and anthologized primers about modern feminism, Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2000) and Grassroots: A Field Guide to Feminist Activism (FSG, 2005). Their joint work can be found in The Nation and a dozen anthologies, including Catching a Wave (2002), Girls Rock (2004), and the afterword to Courtney Love's memoir, Dirty Blonde (2006). Richards, a graduate of Barnard College, is also the author of the forthcoming book Opting In: Having a Child Without Losing Yourself (FSG, 2008). Baumgardner, a graduate of Lawrence University, is the producer/creator of the award-winning film I Had an Abortion, and wrote Look Both Ways: Bisexual Politics (FSG, 2007) and Abortion and Life (Akashic Books, 2008).
