ARMY ROTC LEADERSHIP TRAINING COURSE

Summer will be here before you know it.  Your plans may include catching a few rays, or working at a basic entry-level summer job.  Now Army ROTC has a wonderful opportunity for accelerating your leadership development along with your managerial skills to achieve your future goals for advanced employment.  Army ROTC offers a paid summer leadership development program that will assist you in the achievement of these goalsThe Army ROTC Leader’s Training Course (LTC) is the Army’s 2-year AROTC Program entry point.  Through the Leader's Training Course, students without AROTC Basic Course experience can examine the Army first-hand, and qualify for Advanced Course (final two years of school) entry.  The Army ROTC instructors observe college students from around the country to determine and assess their officer potential in a leadership oriented, challenging, and fun four-week training program at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

You can spend 4 weeks with other college students like yourself!  Have fun while participating in:

-       Rappelling

-       Stream Crossing

-       Land Navigation

-      Obstacle Courses

-       Weapons Training

-       Night Operations

-       Water Survival

-       Tarzan Assault. Course

-       Paintball

-       Survival Skills

-       Equipment Demos

-       Physical Fitness

-      Sports/Team Development Course

-      Confidence Course/Tactics

-       Leadership Training

Upon successful completion of the Leader’s Training Course, two-year scholarship is offered.  The total value of this package exceeds $26,000 over two years.

ATTENTION STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS:

Winter Quarter 2008 Special Funding Committee (SFC) meeting dates have been set every other Tuesday from 2-4pm.

  • January 15, 2008
  • January 29, 2008
  • February 12, 2008
  • February 26, 2008
  • March 11, 2008

 A club applying for a SFC allocation will be required to either already have an account with the Office of Student Activities (or will be required to open such an account upon receiving an allocation), must have a faculty/staff advisor, and must be registered with the Office of Student Activities prior to receiving an allocation.

SFC application and post audit can be found on the Student Activities page under Student Organizations:

Once the application is completed and signed by your advisor, return the form to 022 Student Union to make an appointment for an upcoming SFC meeting date. If your request is granted, a post audit will be due 10 days after your event. A $25 fine will be assessed for all audits turned in after the due date.

The Panhellenic Council, and Wright State University sororities are co-sponsoring an Open House event in the Student Union Atrium. The event is open to any women interested in learning more about Greek Life at WSU. Being Greek is more than wearing letters, or attending meetings and social events. Being in a sorority is about making friendships that will last a lifetime. It is about becoming a leader, excelling academically, and working to improve others lives through philanthropy and community service. Please take the time to learn more about the many opportunities being a part of a sorority can offer. The chapters of the sororities will follow the Open House event with a week of informal recruitment events.
