ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Dear Students:

Epsilon Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., invites your organization to join us in our 100th year anniversary celebration of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on Thursday, February 28, 2008, 6:30 p.m., at the Mandalay Banquet Center.  The theme for this centennial celebration is “One Hundred Years of Service to All Mankind:  1908 – 2008.”  Our banquet keynote speaker will be the Honorable Ray Nagin, Mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana.  The cost for our anniversary celebration is $40.00 per person or a reserved table of 10 for $400.00.  Tickets are available immediately and may be obtained by contacting the individuals listed below.

As you are aware, the city of New Orleans is still undergoing a rebuilding process from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  The devastation remains very visible and the rebuilding process appears very slow.  Many of the residents of the lower ninth ward of New Orleans are still waiting for insurance payments and/or government assistance in order for them to rebuild and restore their homes and their community.  There is no doubt these residents would appreciate any assistance we might provide.  Therefore, in keeping with Alpha Kappa Alpha’s commitment of service to all mankind, Epsilon Chi Chapter is organizing a community-wide benefit drive to support their recovery efforts.  Our suggested levels of giving are:

Tea Rose Supporter - $25.00 - $100.00          Silver Supporter - $101.00 - $499.00

Gold Supporter - $500.00 - $999.00               Platinum Supporter - $ 1,000 - 4,999

Pearl Supporter - $5,000 and above

We ask that you join us in letting Mayor Nagin and the people of New Orleans know we are concerned about their welfare.  Epsilon Chi Chapter will present a monetary gift to Mayor Nagin during the banquet.  If your organization would like to present a monetary donation, please respond Epsilon Chi Chapter by February 12, 2008.  Those organizations making monetary contributions will be listed in our banquet program.  Your donations should be made payable to “The Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund” and sent to Epsilon Chi Chapter, P.O. Box 3016, Dayton, OH 45401.

We look forward to celebrating our 100th year anniversary and having you take part in this most worthwhile event.  Banquet tickets are available by calling Ms. Gwen Trice at 837-7746, Ms. Wanda Long at 832-2790 or Epsilon Chi Chapter at 262-9017 by February 15, 2008.
