The Wright State University Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program is now accepting applications for Leader’s Training Course 2008.

Held each summer, Leader’s Training Course is designed to give college students who have not taken ROTC on campus an opportunity to see first hand what the Army is all about and to qualify for the ROTC advanced program on campus. Qualified college students with two years left at Wright State are eligible for this year’s Leader’s Training Course.

Students who graduate from Leader’s Training Course, and who are academically and medically qualified, will have the opportunity to compete for a two-year Army ROTC college scholarship. This merit-based scholarship pays full tuition and fees, an annual book allowance of $1,200, and a tax-free monthly stipend starting at $450 during the school year.

Throughout the training, the cadets will be placed in various leadership positions. In addition to providing an opportunity for individual leadership growth, students will participate in training and adventure activities such as low and high ropes, rappelling, stream crossing, teamwork development exercises, land navigation, paintball, and water survival.

For more information on this exciting summer adventure, contact Lieutenant Colonel Chuck Arneson at Wright State Army ROTC program at (937) 775-2763 or 775-3841, or visit the Army ROTC website at http://www.wright.edu/academics/armyrotc/ and http://www.goarmy.com/rotc/leaders_training.jsp
