The Wright State University Libraries' collections are among the largest in the Dayton metropolitan area. In addition, the University Libraries are a member of OhioLINK, an advanced computer network that provides access to a significant array of online resources as well as nearly 50 million library items in academic libraries throughout Ohio. Students and faculty can request books and other materials online from OhioLINK libraries and receive them for checkout within two to three days.

The University Libraries' website provides online access to a wide variety of information resources including electronic books and journals, research databases, media, and selected Internet resources. Required course readings, called Course Reserves, are also on the Libraries website which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from campus computer labs, residence halls, and off-campus locations.

Librarians are available during most  hours that the Libraries are open to assist users in accessing and using resources. Discussing a project with a librarian at the outset can help students make better use of our growing collection of electronic resources. In addition to providing individual assistance, the Libraries also offer courses and workshops on using electronic resources and ebooks and on topics such as creating with multimedia and building basic research skills.

The Paul Laurence Dunbar Library also houses the Student Technology Assistance Center (STAC). In the STAC, students can use new information technologies and multimedia to create original academic and creative works, such as classroom presentations, web pages, digital videos, podcasts, etc.

In addition to STAC, the Dunbar Library is also home to the University Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives which feature the Wright Brothers, the history of flight, and Paul Laurence Dunbar, who was one of the first African American literary figures to gain national acclaim.

To check out materials at the Libraries, present a valid Wright 1 Card. Materials can be renewed online using the My Account feature on the Libraries’ website.

When classes are in session, the University Libraries’ hours are:

Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.– 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
Friday 7:30 a.m.– 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m.– 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 10:00 a.m.– 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
