Important Deadlines for Prospective ISN Students

Prospective ISN students who plan to start in Fall 2018 should attend to these important dates. 

Downlowad the full prospective ISN student check-list here.  After completing the Wright State University Application and the ISN Student Application of Interest, check your new Wright State email account weekly for important updates.

January 8: Priority Deadline for Financial Aid

  • Submit FAFSA and Apply to WSU by this date for first consideration for financial aid and scholarships.

February 28: Complete ISN Student Application of Interest

  • Apply to be considered for the Independent Scholars Network. 
  • A telephone interview will be scheduled during March or April.  Prepare for the interivew by reviewing the questions on the ISN Student Application of Interest.  Be prepared to discuss your goals, your vision of academic and career success, and your plans overcoming challenges.

March 30: Apply for Housing in Hamilton Hall

April 17: ISN Meet & Greet

  • Meet current ISN students, learn about financial aid and registering for classes, and ask any questions you may have
  • 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Student Union Pathfinder Lounge

June (various dates): Attend Wright State University Orientation

  • Sign up for orientation in advance and select a date in June to attend.

JUNE 30: Return the ISN Committment Agreement

  • After being formally accepted in the ISN Program, complete and return the commitment agreement to confirm your commitment to participate in the program and attend the ISN Boot Camp.

July 1: Apply for ETV

  • The Ohio Education and Training Voucher Program is a federally-funded, state-administered program designed to help youth who were in U.S. foster care. Students may receive up to $5,000 a year for qualified school related expenses.

August 20: ISN First Year Student Move-In Day

  • Move in early, attend the ISN Welcome Reception, and rest up for Boot Camp

August 20 - 23: ISN Boot Camp

  • Brush up on the skills needed to be successful students, receive an orientation to the ISN program, and gain an introduction to campus resources geared directly towards ISN students.
