Information and Logistics

Start your college career on the right foot by attending these memorable and informative sessions essential to your college success.

  • You will receive a comprehensive schedule from your resident assistant (residential students) or when you check-in at the First Weekend Kickoff (commuter students).
  • To preview events of the weekend and see event changes in real-time, download the CORQ app or visit Engage and select First Weekend.

Attendance

Attendance at First Weekend is expected for all incoming students, especially First Friday, August 20. First Weekend is a crucial component in your transition to Wright State, and it is full of useful activities, events, and information sessions to help you acclimate to campus. Please plan work and other activities to not conflict with your ability to attend First Weekend.

    COVID-19 Updates

At this point, First Weekend 2021 is planned to be an in-person experience. Incoming students should plan to participate in all First Weekend events according to their specific schedule. As federal, state, and university guidelines are updated, we will adjust the First Weekend program. Programming updates will be made on this page and Engage.

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors must wear a face mask when inside all buildings on Wright State University campuses, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required when outdoors on Wright State campuses if you can maintain a safe physical distance. Masks should cover your nose, mouth, and chin.

Any exceptions to the mask requirement must be documented. Please email mask-ada@wright.edu for information on how to request a face-covering exemption or alternative.

Vaccination remains our most effective and important tool to fight the spread of COVID-19. We encourage all members of the Wright State community to get vaccinated. Vaccines are available through Wright State Physicians. Please call 937-245-7200 if you need to make an appointment.

Before attending First Weekend programming, we ask that you perform a daily health assessment. Please stay home if:

    • You have a temperature over 100.4° F
    • You have cold or flu symptoms
    • You have other COVID-19 symptoms as defined by the CDC
    • Anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms
